The objective of this conference is to understand how the professionalization of diplomacy at the end of the 19th century influenced the relationship between literature and diplomacy and engendered new literary and diplomatic practices.

The aim of the TCBH Essay Prize is to encourage a high standard of scholarship amongst postgraduate research students. The competition is open to anyone currently registered for a higher research degree, or who completed one no earlier than October 2009.
