Résumé :

Since a common urgency for harmonisation of international legislation on financial archiving preservation has arisen, the European Association for Banking and Financial History (EABH) e.V., will organise a series of workshops to compile a survey on a European level regarding this subject. The general topic of the first workshop will place special emphasis on the legal periods for data retention and information of the financial sector in Austria, the Benelux countries, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Switzerland.

Détails :

The following issues are to be considered within the written paper:

• The legal framework of records and historical archiving in financial institutions (own country)
• Differences on legal obligation to retain data within financial institutions e.g. central banks, saving banks, commercial banks, insurance companies and investment banks.
• Standard documentation required by the Supervisory Authority to be kept by financial institutions (own country).
• Internal practices and corporate governance guidelines inside financial institutions (in your own company) concerning archiving processes, periods and its legal framework. How far is the practice of archiving influenced by the existing (national or regional) legislation?

All workshops will provide the groundwork for a comparative approach to a Conference on:

Archival Legislation Harmonisation in Europe in 2013/ 2014.
