Détails :

The Economology Journal wish to invite scientists and researchers in all areas of Economy and Ecology to submit their articles for the June 2012 Special Issue on "Biodiversity and the economy of Nature".

The articles in the Economology Journal continue to be the most accessed and downloaded information in the Economology area of studies.

The study of biodiversity is fundamental to our understanding of life on Earth and to confronting some of the problems caused by our own species (Raven et al., 2011, JAB). Further, we increasingly count on biodiversity for a wide variety of ecosystem functions and services amid a gauntlet of anthropogenic changes, including exploding human population levels; global climate change; the spread of invasive species, pests, and pathogens; and overharvesting (Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, 2005). In fact, biodiversity is diminishing at a rate even faster than the last mass extinction at the end of the Cretaceous Period, 65 million years ago, with possibly two-thirds of existing terrestrial species likely to become extinct by the end of this century the vast majority of them unknown to science at the time they disappear (Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, 2005).

This Special Issue will collect papers related to the study (empirical and theoretical) of biodiversity and its role within the economy of Nature. We encourage the submission of provocative and innovative ideas on biological diversity and its linkages with economy and ecology. We also welcome the submission of regular articles!

Economology Journal is an international journal dedicated to the publication of high quality, peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of ecology, environmental economy, linkages between economy and ecology, philosophy of nature and special issues on topics of current interest. The aim of the journal is to provide an interdisciplinary approach, freely available for all, to the study of ecology and economy and their interconnections. This journal encourages submission of papers that integrate natural and economical theories, new economical and ecological approaches and significant philosophical and scientific ideas about nature.

Our peer-review system do not reject papers that are against the common and academic knowledges but we highly encourage authors to submit new breakthrough ideas in economological studies.

The original research papers and case studies, review articles, special themes issues, short notes and comments, viewpoint articles and letters to the Editor should be in the author's area of research and particularly should interlink economy and ecology. Kindly see the instruction for authors designed for submission guidelines (http://www.economologos.com/Additional%20information.html#Guide for Authors).

Prospective authors should submit their manuscripts for this special issue to editor@economologos.com on or before the 25th of May 2012.
